calves, hair and etc.

Story time.

In order to go home I had to get someone to cover my shift.  Which meant I worked their shift from 6:30 to 3 AM.  It wasn't the most ideal situation but also wasn't the worst thing of my life.  It helped that I didn't work that day so I was able to sleep in.  But then I worked at 8 AM the next morning.  Whoops.  I guess it was worth it seeing 3 of my sister graduate.  And 4 of them dominate at state.  I guess.  :)  Anyway, let me tell you about my experience working that late.  For one who knew it was crazy busy from 6 to 8.  Also who knew that from 12-3 no one called in.  Well, I saw that coming.  (We are open for the people who have day when its out night.  How nice of us right).  Before my shift I met a nice guy named Adam.  We also happened to have our dinner break together.  This is where it gets interesting.  A few reasons I wasn't so sure about him.
1.  He was married and worked until 3 AM.  Just saying I feel like he should be home with his wife at that hour.
2.  He was eating food from the fridge that wasn't his and had been there for a few days.  A salad with dressing on it.  Not sure if that was a good idea.
3.  He was married and wasn't wearing his wedding ring.
4.  He went bananas about my calves.

About number 3 this is how the conversation went:
Adam:  Are you married?  (After saying 3 times, your calves are seriously AWESOME-while motioning towards them violently.  Like seriously huge.  Wow those calves.)
Me:  No I'm not.  (I don't have a wedding ring on?)
Adam:  Why not?
Me:  Not really sure.  Are you married?
Adam:  Yes I am.
Me:  Where is your wedding ring?
Adam:  I use it as a key chain.  More people talk to me when I don't wear it.

I'm pretty sure I'd want my husband to wear his wedding ring.  Just saying.  He then invited me to come and play poker with him because work was going to get slow.  Well I accidentally didn't go even though I said I would.  Whoops.  He came over to me later and said sorry if he freaked me out earlier.  Then he told me I was a very lovely lady and it was nice meeting me.  He was very nice.  And interesting.  Needless to say I hope I don't have that shift again.  I'm just saying.

On another note.  I realized lately slash people keep telling me I dye and change my hair a lot.  And boy were they were right.  Some pictures from over the years.

I was blonde.  For quite some time off and on.
Then I have colored it dark.  Lots of times.  Slash I cut all my hair off at one point.
And now here I am with dark and blonde combined.
What to do next you know.  I am ready for something else.  I get bored with my hair easy.  Also a side note.  I have been growing my hair out for years and it is finally long again.  About time.

Welp time for bed I'd say.

i just love this

"Occasionally discouragement may darken our pathway; frustration may be a constant companion. In our ears there may sound the sophistry of Satan as he whispers, "You cannot save the world; your small efforts are meaningless. You haven't time to be concerned for others." Trusting in the Lord, let us turn our heads from such falsehoods and make certain our feet are firmly planted in the path of service and our hearts and souls dedicated to follow the example of the Lord.  In moments when the light of resolution dims and when the heart grows faint, we can take comfort from His promise: 'Be not weary in well-doing...Out of small things proceedeth that which is great.  Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind."  (D&C 64:33) -President Monson

oh you know

Here are some funny quotes I heard a few weeks ago.  About Osama.

1. Osama got Jimmered.  (never gets old).
2. Osama should get the award for 2011/2012 best hide and go seek player.
3. The prince and the princess got married this week and the bad guy got killed, we live in a fairytale.

funny right? I'd say.

I work at 8 am these days.  It is less than ideal but is great because I am done at 4:30 so I still have the whole night ahead of me!  Also, I spend the night at my dear friend, and also sister, Kait's place and it's way easier to get up with someone else!  On my days off I can't sleep in though!  My dad said it's because I'm getting old.  Very funny pops.  Sure is weird though, I definitely have always been able to sleep in.  I guess its because I get up so early on the other days.  Hopefully that comes back to me....I'm sure once I'm home and go to McCall and try to sleep in (because my mom lets us sleep in until 8:30, its CRAZY!) I'll get right back to it.  This is if I don't get waken up by a few things...dear Claire coming into my room saying, "Joslin seriously Mom said to get up now!"  Or there is always the phantom of the opera music that is blasting.  Or last but not least, Alek yelling like a maniac (love you Alek) to get up right now.  You would think those kids would get tired of waking up us older kids.  Nope, still happens every day.  I oddly kind of miss it though.  Weird?

Have I mentioned I'm going home on Friday.  I CAN NOT WAIT.  I sure do love that family of mine.  We skype a lot and it sure is great.  Little do they know I snap these pictures of them.

Oh boy.  Those kids.

A few random facts from my life.  A) I don't wear eye makeup these days.  One of the best things I've decided.  I mean I don't think I look too scary and its so much easier in the morning and more comfortable through out the day.  LOVE IT.  B) Grandma Nielson has facebook.  I don't know what to do with this information.  She claims it is for coupons, but I'm not believing that for a second.  Everyone should add her.

Me and Kait just went to the temple and planned on being there for 2 hours at the least.  Nope, 10 seconds.  Seriously the fastest temple experience in Provo, EVER. It's like those temple workers are all so adorable.  Ah I love it.  Great place.

Two more days of work and then home home. Yayyy.

whoops...

I feel like I do this once a year? I say sorry I got behind bla bla bla I'll do better. and then I never blog again. I'm going to work on it for real this time.  YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT.

Well, winter semester ended. A few weeks ago.  And that sure made me happy.  I am here in Provo working full time at Vivint.  I have never worked full time so I was nervous I wouldn't make it but I'm surviving!  I talk on the phone the whole time and it stays busy so its going good.  I am glad I got over the newbie stage and now I know what I am doing.  Elle' works in the same department as me and at the same time so that is fun!  Kait also works at the same time but in a different department.  It is fun to all work together!

I love not taking classes.  How important is it go go to college?  Because I am pretty sure I love not having to worry about homework and tests.  Maybe I will just work at campus craft and vivint the rest of my life?  I'll look into it.

I made some goals for my summer here in Utah.  I'll put them on here so you can all make sure I do them. :)

-Read a lot of books.  I haven't read books for fun in such a long time!  I just finished The Last Song and LOVED it!  Man it was a good book.  If you guys have any suggestions of good books let me know!
-Food storage and 72 hour kit.  This is something me and kait are both working on.  Obviously we aren't going to have a huge food storage since we are just college students, BUT we just want to have something!  The other day at Smiths they had huge jugs of water for $0.49!  I mean who wouldn't buy those!  So we are working on that one. :)
-Road trip with Kara and Heather to Seattle
-Start blogging again.  Huh.  Looks like I'm doing that now.  Cool.
-Write a thank you letter to someone once a week.
-Start a grateful journal.  This is pretty self explanatory but I am just writing 3 things a day I am grateful for in a cute notebook I have.
-Goto Chicago to visit Ali and Nathan if tickets get cheaper. COME ONNNN TICKETS.  I miss these two so so so much.  Who wouldn't miss this girl?! (Plus Nathan duh).

-Eat healthier, make new meals.  I'm not doing anything crazy with eating healthier but just avoiding eggos, pop tarts, and toaster strudels for breakfast for starters. :)
-Goto the temple once a week
-Work out
-Don't spend more than 100 each month on clothes.  This may seem like a lot but I haven't bought clothes in a while, minus the shirt and beanie I got at Urban yesterday. :)  Also I'm working full time so I deserve it.  Right?  Right.
-Organize pictures-move them to IPhoto on computer.  Buy new pictures.
-Get into the habit of flossing teeth.  Last time I went to the dentist they basically said if I don't floss my teeth will fall out.  Or something like that.  So I've started.  Yay.
-Learn how to braid hair.
-Go camping and/or hiking.  I just want to learn how to like it because all I've ever done was girls camp and hiking to the Y my freshman year (not fun).  Also camping with my grandparents when I was younger.  I could enjoy it right?  Why not try.

We will see how it all goes.

Last night I pretty much went to Germany.  We went to a German restaurant in SLC.  I got schnitzel and spaetzle.

SO SO GOOD.  Then we walked around the store/restaurant and they had so many good treats from when we were in Germany.  Rape cookies, check.  Honey waffles, check.  We were in heaven.  We went with friends from Germany and I was pretty much like this the whole night.  We are just crazy when we all get together and I love it.  I want to go backkkkk.

Lauren and Karli come down here in a month.  I CAN NOT WAITTTT.  Also, I am going home next weekend for the triplets graduation.  I can't wait to go home.  Also, everyone needs to watch the Justin Bieber movie.  It completely changed my life.

Magnum bars are in the USAAAA now.  They are the best ice cream bars EVER.  We had them in Germany and were so happy to find them here.  They have them at walmart.  GO BUY THEM.

Well folks have a great Sunday.

Germany it is.

Well, I sure am in Germany right now!  It has turned into quite an adventure.  We left our house at 4 in the morning on Friday and arrived in Berlin, Germany at 12 their time, so 4 AM Idaho time?  I think that is right.  We are living with a family, The Beers, and they are an older couple.  They are so cute and helpful.  They don't speak much English though and so it is tough but helps us work on our German.  You can refer to my Germany blog for the next few months if you want to see what I am up to!  That is where I'll be doing my posting!
